MMORPG Player Reviews Post Board

Well I found this board today on IGN.com's post boards. Its basically a review forum for MMORPG's. The system is 0 through 10, but you really only get to vote 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 or lower. Kinda kewl if you are looking for some reviews on games you never played or games you have.

If you don't have an account get one here, and then go to the MMORPG Player Reviews Forum and write your own review.

You'll find mine under the name Phryer_Tuck when I get some time to review Asheron's Call and Asheron's Call 2.

Home Star Runner it's .com

Well its not game related, but since this site just has to be seen I wanted to point anyone and everyone there. Its super funny, and you gotta admit Homestarrunner is a crack up.

Look at the bottom left for all the numbers in circles, there are some great start pages. My favorite has to be the bowling alley. Now if I could just get a phat bowling shirt like the one Homestar has.

Define MMO

Well its didn't take long to Google MMO. For those that have never heard the term, heres a nice short defination.
MMOG in an acronym that stands for Massive Multiplayer Online Game. This is the kind of online game that allows a huge number of players (greater than 1,000) to play in the same game concurrently. Unlike small online games such as Quake or UnReal Tournament, MMOGs are hosted by publishers and/or data centers around the clock. This makes these games costly and time consuming to develop.

The first MMOGs were Ultima Online, EverQuest, CrossGate, and so on. Most of these MMOGs are RPG (Role-Playing Game) style games and do not define an end of game. Rather the players are involved in a continuing story more akin to the real world. These games allow players to develop their own game style, so that players can stay in the game for a long time, typically 6-12 months. Also, the players will be interacting with other players all over the world.
