Computer Edge.com

A Capital Offense

By Joan Donaldson-Yarmey

I was dusting the living room when Byron stomped down the hall, his housecoat flapping behind. I wrinkled my nose at the smell of beer and body odor as he neared.

"I printed this out for you," he yelled, throwing a piece of paper at me. He never talked to me in a decent voice anymore. "I want you to e-mail your sister back and tell her not to send another one."

This story was taken from the Computor Edge.com San Diego web site. It was written by Joan Donaldson-Yarmey, and was published in the Beyond Personal Computing section.

On the Media

If you have never hear of On the Media it's a radio news program that reports on "everything fit to print" as it were. The June 27th show just blew my mind with all the coverage they paided to the current state of the music industry, turned it into a story about video games and then worked in some news about a law that might effect bloggers in the EU.

Take a listen start with the story on Walmart, get a cup of coffee or tea and just kick back. You'll be glad you did.

Here are a few of my comments. I'll post some of my thoughts on this whole thing in a later post.

Wal-Mart Culture - Turns out Walmart is now going to put U shaped bits of plastic over covers of Cosmo and the like, guess the racey headlines are too much for little kinda that don't even know how to read.
Game Wars - So you can't get anything by MM at Walmart, but you can sure get the best on gore. Wanta club a passing driver and take his car. Its all possible just go to Walmart and get your copy now.
The Like Pain(Station) - Man and I thought Jackass had the lock on pain. I can't wait to see this game turn up in America. "Come on Bro one more game", "Ahhhh no way man that games evil bro". See for yourself how evil you too can be.
Right to Reply - Man do Politican always have to make laws. I guess its job security.
Net Dropouts - Wow I didn't think computers came with an off button. You learn something new everyday. :0) ...
