Loop Recorder:
I haven't tried this yet, but I will. Loop Recorder lets you capture music from web casts or other streaming sources.

The loop mode infinitely records up to a specified number of minutes in a continuous loop while scrolling the data.

At any time the current data can be previewed and songs can be cut and saved as WAV or MP3-files, while the recording continues in the background. So you can always save the recently played songs.

What's Your Magic Power?

So it looks like I know one day I'll go crazy. See I took this test and was told I would fall to my death tring to fly, and then I took the test below and who would of known my magic power is flying. Safe P2P File Sharing Without Spyware

With the most recent decision of the RIAA to go after its comsumers, I wanted to start a topic to see if anyone knows about how to block your IP etc. My hope is P2P software will just disable the ability to see your whole hard drive.

I would suggest you not log on for a few days, but if you do just put out a few files. Here is a good link if you find yourself looking down the end of a subpoena, or just want to avoid it all together.

If you are looking for P2P software without Spyware connected to it. Just look around you'll find it, or use porducts like Spybot Search and Destroy, or Ad-aware. Note these link will take you to a google search. That for a reason. Go read for yourself and learn about what spyware really is.

If you read an article by a Mr. Good, and want free info instead of paying 9.95. Leave a comment under this topic.

"Summer School" series: The Fed & Interest Rates

Ever wonder what the Fed really does when it "lowers interest rates." Well for those in the know it, the Fed, does really lower interest rate, it just lower the rates banks pay in day to day loan, thus putting more money in the system, thus making our interest rates on "regular loans" lower. But there's a catch. Wanta learn more. Listen to this for yourself. Note you'll need Real Player. I'm not a big fan of Real Player, from when they use to track your use, but you'll need it to listen.

Update:
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Federal Reserve cut a key short-term interest rate Wednesday by one-quarter percentage point to its lowest level in 45 years. The aim is to energize consumer spending and business investment and help the economy snap out of a funk.

Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan and his Federal Open Market Committee colleagues reduced the federal funds rate from 1.25 percent to 1 percent, the lowest level since 1958.

The funds rate - the interest banks charge each other on overnight loans - is the Fed's main lever for influencing the economy.

The vote was 11-1 with Fed member Robert Parry dissenting. He favored a larger, half-point reduction in the funds rate.
So now you know all about how the Fed cuts "interest rates", this should all make sense. You'll find the full article here.

Earth Observatory @ nasa.gov

Wanta learn more about our planet, I'd suggest you visit Earth Observatory and read yourself.

Leaving aside for a moment the deforestation and other land cover changes that continue to accompany an ever-growing human population, the last two decades of the twentieth century were a good time to be a plant on planet Earth. In many parts of the global garden, the climate grew warmer, wetter, and sunnier, and despite a few El Niño-related setbacks, plants flourished for the most part.

New PowerMac G5

My bro just stopped by to show me the new Power Mac G5. 8 gigs of RAM! Now not being a huge Mac fan myself I'm stoked to see that someone is going to push PC makers to step-up and produce finally the machines we all need to process and work all day without waiting for the screen to refresh, or the harddrive to finish saving, then add in some spooky action for speed of light transfers and man I should be able to get 8 hrs of work done in like 3.

Sweet that mean more time on the beach, and with my GF. I know she'll like that.

Computer Addiction

Why is it that drug addicts and computer aficionados are both called users?

Super Fast Computer
has a little tid bit on online addiction. I know the feeling as I find myself sometimes just sucked into the computer. As part of my former addiction I'll post a few screenshots showing you all my alter-life. If anyone knows of some good links for self-help groups let me know. Not that I (cough voice lowers) need them, strictly research you know.
